How to trace a number with in Australia?

My dad had a phone call from this number: 0282094700, it is annoying as it is abuse, Vodafone wont do anything.

Not really sure on this one mate…maybe go to the coppers,,tell them you have the number but your phone company wont do anything and see if they can help you out in any way..especially as these calls are quite threatening.
The only other thing you can try is to block that callers number from the phone so they dont get the satisfaction of getting the call through at all……..which would probably annoy the sh*t out of them ’cause you have the upper hand !!

The most obvious thing I can think of is to ring it and ask the person who they are or they might answer with their name or it could go through to their personal voicemail – make sure you hide your number before calling so you can hang up if you don’t want to speak to the person!! If you are being pranked you can report nuisance calls as long as you answer these calls (connect with the person) on at least 3 separate occasions – only thing with this though is that because of privacy they won’t tell you who it is but they will advise them to stop making nuisance calls to you and if it continues it can turn legal.. If you had a missed call from someone it could also just be a wrong number..
