How can I trace a phone number? I need to find my dad!!?
This number keeps trying to FaceTime me. And then a unknown number is trying to call me. I think it is the same person. And when I answered it once they were looking for my mom. I think she is hiding something. I think the person calling might be my dad. (I don’t know who he is. But she lived with him for a while and my grandparents to care of me but she left him and now she is back in my life. But my dad isn’t) I have looked online for cell phone number tracers but all of them require money…I don’t want my mom to figure out that I am doing this so I can’t enter any credit card info. Someone please help if u have any suggestions for where I can go to have this number traced or at least find out the name of the owner. I appreciate all answers!! Thank u!!
Can’t be done without money. Go to Walmart or CVS and buy a prepaid card. Use that to pay for a phone search. That way no one knows it’s you.

Yes I have used this great service below now for awhile, I bought a yearly subscription for 49. I think but it is well worth it. I get address name and so much more info with just a number. Good luck I hope it works well for you.

Know anything about an application that tries to dial over my phone line?
My OS is WinXP and I got a simple dial-up internet connection. It infected my system a couple of days ago and tries to dial an international number about every 15-20 minutes. It places a globe icon on the system tray while running. Title bar name is i-dialer. I traced it’s location. (Temp folder). Filename is idd49A9.tmp.exe.
I deleted the files permanantly but it didn’t work.
Any clues anybody?

Tracing a cell phone call?? Please help!?
I was wondering if an average person that has your cell phone number can “trace” it and figure out your location. If there is some semi-normal, non-super detective-ish way to do this, would they have to get you on the phone to trace the call? This is a dumb question I know but it’s important!!
Also, is there a way to block a phone number from calling your cell phone. I know my phone carrier doesn’t offer that service, but is there some other way to get around it.

I am very bemused as to whether reverse cell phone lookup searches actually work. After searching on google for a cell phone lookup, I am none the wiser. I have been on forums, where people discuss reverse phone lookups, but the opinions are very mixed. Some people are saying only land line numbers can be traced, while others are saying you can also lookup cell numbers. They say searching for land line numbers is free at whitepages, but you will have to pay for cell phone numbers. Is this the case? if so what is a good service to use? I am sick of searching.
They are right, you can reverse search cell phone numbers and it will not be free. At http://www.reversecellphonelook-ups.com you can reverse lookup cell or land-line numbers. http://www.whitepages.com will give information on listed land-line numbers for free, but not all will be available. The same principle applies to reverse cell phone lookup directories. Not all cell phone numbers will be on their database. You can check the number on the system and they will tell you if they have the info linked to the phone. If they have they will locate the phone to the state ie new york. This will be free but if you want additional information including name and address, you will be charged.

If I don’t pay my bills at all, would the bill collectors or anyone who has authority be able to trace my cell phone number from my billing address and call my cell phone if I never pay my bills? That’s if I only have a cell phone and not a landline phone?

Can someone please tell me, what cell phone lookup works?. I need to get some information back from a cell phone number, but I am scepital about using a reverse cell phone lookup online. Are cell phone lookup directories for real or are they complete and utter scams, I need to know before I spend any money on a reverse service. I would like to find out who the owner is of a particular cell phone, as I have been recieving some very disturbing calls. The caller is becoming more and more threatening with every phone call and I need to put a stop to it.Please can someone let me know of a legitimate cell phone lookup service what will provide me with the callers name and address.

The information I got back from the cell phone number was spot on. I have only used this cell phone lookup so I cannot compare it with any other service.

Can the police trace the number of whoever calls you, by having your phone number?
I’ve had to put my phone off the hook for a little while tonight (it’s 10:30 P.M) because someone is maliciously calling over and over and over and over, whether I answer the phone or not. And they won’t say anything when I do answer.
I kid you not, the minute the phone stops ringing, MAYBE 3 seconds passes before it’s ringing again. I have my suspicions of who it is, but can’t prove it. I have no caller id or anything. Can the police take my number down and find out who is calling me? I saw it done in a movie, but then again it WAS a movie & not reality. Can someone PLEASE help?? It’s driving me crazy. I have cancer, and my mom is 60 years old and has to work early in the mornings. It’s impossible to sleep with a phone going off every few seconds. And we can’t live with the phone off the hook. Any genuine help or advice is very much appreciated.
Yes, they can do that, but unfortunately, they wont. The most the other person could get would be telephone harassment ( minor misdemeanor) and it takes days to get everything in order.
I am not advocating this course of action, but I had a similar situation a while back. Stop by at a sports shop or police supply store and buy a whistle ( about $4). Keep it by the phone. When the phone rings next time, answer it, (make sure this is not a real call). As soon as you know it is the prankster, blow the whistle long and loud into the receiver. You will cause some temporary hearing problems on the other end and chances are pretty good they wont call back again. You just took all the fun out of their calling you.
