Could someone please help me?

My sister’s husband’s brother who is very addicted to crack and god knows what else calls my house at all hours of the day and night on the telephone. I have contacted the police about it, but they told me that since his name and phone number are somehow blocked on my caller id I have no proof and can’t do anything about it. I know it’s him because we had this problem with him before and I called the police and it stopped for a while, but he is back dong it again. I tried to contact the Verizon telephone company but being the weekend noone is there. Also tomorrow is Christmas so noone will be there either. I have taken the phone off the hook but I need to talk on it sometime. I don’t know his phone number because he somehow blocks it when he calls here. I tried the *57 trace thing after he calls but that does not work either. Even if I did know his phone number I don’t know what numbers to push on the telephone to block my name and number on his caller ID. any ideas would help

Not much help this short notice, as this is not a dire emergency.

Your best bet right now is to add what’s called “privacy manager”, a service by your local phone company, for a few dollars a month. That will get rid of most telemarketers and annoying calls, as well as force most calls int voicemail, which you can deal with later. Check if your local phone company offers it and if it fits your needs.
